The HAND Company was founded in 1987
by Steve Hand and his wife Lesley.
In the beginning The HAND Company was mainly an
entertainment production and dÈcor company booking live bands
and a variety of other entertainment for corporate and private
clients around the country. Steve Hand’s background as the
original Director of Catering for the Bel Age Hotel in Los
Angeles, as well as assistant Managing Director of the
prestigious Regency Club in Westwood, California was
opportunistic in offering his personal clients a level of
expertise very few, if any other entertainment dÈcor company
had.
Through Steve’s entertainment expertise and industry connections
there arose an offer to produce movie trailers for 20th Century
Fox Film Corporation for their Pay TV division.
This began a run of six years producing movie trailers for pay
TV, home video, and the international airline industry, in
conjunction with producing special events around the country.
20th Century Fox as well as Paramount Pictures, Walt Disney
Pictures, and MGM Studios became Steve’s clients. He produced
all of the MGM international product reels for the Cannes film
festivals, Mifed (the Italian film festival), and the American
film market during this time. For four of those years The HAND
Company produced more movie trailers for the pay television
markets around the country than any other company in the United
States. The HAND Company also produced the only 50th anniversary
video tributes to “Gone with the Wind” and “The Wizard of Oz” in
addition to the 25th anniversary tributes to the animations
classics: “Tom and Jerry” and “The Pink Panther”, all for MGM
Studios.
By the mid 90ties producing movie trailers for the entertainment
industry’s pay TV business were all but gone for independent
companies. Studios, to save money were producing them in house,
if at all.
During the early part of the Clinton White House, the corporate
event business was also off. Many corporations were downsizing
and cutting budgets, making it difficult to justify spending
large amounts of money on special events.
This sparked The HAND Company to change direction and become a
consulting company working with small businesses to build them
stature, and market awareness. During this time Steve Hand
opened the very upscale Hollywood Party Rentals in Los Angeles
as Vice President.
After the initial year and a half of Hollywood Party Rentals
existence, The HAND Company transferred Hollywood Party Rentals
to its roster of clients and became their consultant company.
Then in 2003, after giving in to the urging of his peers within
the event industry it was time to bring focus back to the
production aspects of The HAND Company.
Steve Hand successfully re-launched The HAND Company, LLC as a
nationally recognized full service production company
specializing in corporate incentive trips, award shows, new
product launches, grand openings, unveilings, and employee
events.
The HAND Company excels in personal service and creativity,
incorporating only the top people and companies within the event
industry on their team. They are the perfect partners for the
corporation or individual who appreciates quality and style.
